Kaylene Alvarez

Senior Due Diligence Advisor

Kaylene is a global specialist in inclusive access to finance and impact investment. She advises banks, CDFIs, philanthropists, governments, donors and impact investors on capital deployment across the capital stack: debt, equity, donor advised funds (DAF), MRI, PRI, grants. She is a recognized specialist in underwriting complex transactions and creating fund structures that align incentives for equitable outcomes. Kaylene has experience in over 40 countries, spanning a 25+ year career including work in the private and public sectors, as well as for the World Bank Group and UN.

Kaylene is a frequent speaker on impact investing, including investing with gender, equity, climate and child lenses, especially around developing financial products and instruments to deliver optimal financial and social outcomes, with risk adjusted returns.


She has an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business and an MA from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer. She also serves on several impact investing committees for blended finance, an investment committee for a Denver-based impact family office, and Treasurer for an international non-profit supporting local women’s organizations as agents of climate change. Kaylene is based in Colorado (USA).
